Energy advocates decry absence of Florida from proposed offshore drilling plans

Florida energy advocacy groups gathered in Jacksonville to discuss the absence of Florida from a proposed federal plan to conduct offshore oil and gas natural gas exploration starting in 2017. Attendees at the gathering, hosted by the Florida Energy Forum, the Consumer Energy Alliance and Florida Vets4Energy, spoke about the energy sector's positive impacts on job creation, diversifying the state portfolio, national security and consumers, according to a statement.
